"Faith Sunday" on our "A Dad's Point-of-View" Facebook Page

Every Sunday, I try to post something of "faith," something inspirational on my "A Dad's Point-of-View" Facebook Page. Today is no exception as I posted an interesting 5-minute video entitled, "The Most Important Verse in the Bible."

I don't "do politics" in my writing. I may have opinions, but I know I'm not knowledgeable enough nor could I possibly compete with the pundits, experts, writers, and media folk that do do politics. It's a stance I believe is wise as my message, in my writing, and now my radio show has to do with various parenting issues, marriage, gender "politics," and more--where my opinion is more relevant than an encyclopedic knowledge of history, dates, and people.

My writing still requires research and I will quote valuable writing I find that is relevant, but I don't do politics. The reason for this long preamble is that the host of this video is conservative radio talk show host Dennis Prager. Before you dismiss him or his message, due to his politics, please try and recognize that all of us have multiple sides. In his case, he has a distinct "macro" and "micro" personality. His "macro" one focuses on his politics - like them or not, it's your choice. His "micro" side, however, deals with personal issues, religion, and topics that I tend to cover. I believe he brings great "wisdom" to that side of his writing and broadcasts.

For instance, he has a dedicated hour, among his 15 hours a week on radio, called "The Male/Female" hour. In it, he talks about marriage, divorces, kids, and many familiar subjects to my readers. THAT is what I hope you'll pay attention to vs. letting politics influence your judgement before you've even seen the video I've posted today.

All that said, I repeat that I don't do politics. Sometimes, I may slip in something that relates to family, as it relates to family courts, CPS, or the like, but my knowledge base on these subjects is just not sufficient to me to address them with the balance and fairness these issues deserve.

So, with all that, I offer you this link to my "A Dad's Point-of-View" Facebook Page and the first post of this video I've described. If you're not a member of our page yet, I hope you'll join and get us over the 2,000 member hump. I never liked when FB used "fans" and I don't like the new "like" designation. To me, you're a member of a group or a page and there's no hierarchy involved -- most certainly with my page where we're all parents struggling to do the best job we can!
